As you may or may not know, the Aero comes stock with the Mitsubishi TD04 T15 turbo. This is a nice little hair dryer, but I believe the sustained pressure rating is 1 bar. This does not mean that it cannot spike beyond 1 bar, but it probably cannot sustain it.
The boost pressure actually closely corresponds to the air/fuel ratio in the shape of the curve, but in inverse. Under inital acceleration and as the torque reaches its maximum, the boost reaches its max pressure at 1.5 bar or 23 psi, about 3800 rpms. This is probably when the air/fuel was the richest also. What does this mean, I don't exactly know the correlation. Horsepower continues to build up to red line, but boost pressure begins to taper off to a steady 1 bar or 15 psi.
What I think is probably happening is that the turbo is hit by the initial boost and over shoots. It then recovers and settles to 1 bar. This is just my guess and anyone else is welcome to contribute their knowledge.
Cheers!
