tell your girlfriend you are reinstalling the old bar, then don't. then see if she really notices. say things while you are driving like, "i definitely see a diference" and "it really doesn't handle that much worse", etc. see if she really can notice the difference, or if she is just being difficult to try and put herself between you and the car. fact is, my wife can't tell when her car is out of alignment. i drive it and notice right away and ask her. her reply, "i didn't notice". me, "you didn't notice that when you remove you hands from the wheel that the car turns?". her, "no". my mother was the same way. they weren't stupid, just not real into cars and didn't pay much attention to how things felt. that's why i have to drive her car every now and then and make sure things are ok.:)
i would make a guess your girlfriend was in a bad mood and saw a chance to blame it on the car so her position in the relationship would rise. just a guess...
