testing experimental fuel chip; timing questions

Hey Guys,
I've been testing out an experimental fuel chip for LH 2.2 C900s, and I'm on my 4th version. On the most recent chip, I resolved a slight predetonation issue caused by lean conditions under super boost (23 - 24 psi). This has resulted in a slightly rich/bogging condition at take-off.
My timing is set to 17 BTDC right now, partly to compensate for the super boost. My vac. advance diaphragm has been modified (stop moved down 2mm) to allow for more travel in the timing department. I am wondering if to improve take off should I set timing to 15 deg. BTDC, or even lower. A very knowledgeable friend suggested 13 deg. BTDC, which I thought was too extreme, considering the boost levels I am running.
Where do you super boosters set your timing?
Any ideas? TIA!
Mike
