What suspension upgrade would be best... (long)

I have a 92 9kt with a bone stock suspension (new ball joints, tie rod ends and control arm bushings) My biggest problem is body roll. The car leans way to much when cornering. Additionally I'd like to make the off-power handling more nuetral, as I feel that the car understeers strongly when pushed. I have about 300 dollars to spend and I am trying to decide whether to go with anti-roll bars or lowering springs.
I've ridden in my friend,s 95 aero with swedish dynamics springs. The handling is great, with almost no body roll and a very neutral feel. The ride is smooth and although it occassionally feels underdampened, it is a very minimal decrease in comfort versus the stock ride. It is a little lower than I would like to go and I'm concerned about whether or not my dampers which are about 3 years older would feel as smooth as his if I did the same upgrade.
I've never driven 9kt with the SAS swat-bars, but if I could achieve the same handling characteristics without losing any ride height I would prefer that. So...
Does any one have a 92 9kt with just springs? If so what kind? and how low does it drop the car? How is the ride quality? and did you have to replace the upper strut mounting plates when you had them done?
Has any one done just the sway bars? How noticable was the handling improvement? Is it a fairly DIY job or do you need access to a shop?
Thanks in advance, Chad
