I'm not sure if I'm understanding you.
The bump stop creates a problem I agree, the 10inches is too much and does effect springrate w/ lowered springs. Cutting by 3inches (removing the first bubble) will remove it from effecting the springrate and still prevent damage to the A-arms and axle.
That brings up a question, how will you limit travel to prevent that type of damage? With stock wheels and tires, the driveshaft will hit the inside of the spring tower before the top of the tire hits the fenderwell!
Are you saying a 300-400lb spring on your adjustable spring seat wouldn't work because there's no way of limiting travel and causing driveshaft damage?
Going above 500lb should cause the car to ride alot more rigid and I would think require better shocks to handle the higher springrate. What shocks have you been running?
