We raced a 900 for 5 years at the local 1/4 mile paved track. What tires are you required to use? What percentages are you allowed to run?The precentages that you are allowed to run can make a big difference in spring selection. We ran a 2.1 and a 2.0 over the yearrs .We had more succsess with the 2.0,not sure as why but it seamed to have better torque of the corners. What are you running for camber and caster on the frontend?
We ran a 4 speed gear box with 5 speed chain sets, the rpms peaked at 7200.
The double valve springs are a must at those rpms.Other engine mods included cam,.040 over domed pistons and lighted rotating assy.We were required to run carb induction(homemade intake and weber 32/36).The car won many features and finished 2nd in season points 3 straight years. We sold the car last year and the new owner won rookie of the year(2 2nds and 5 top fives)Last week he won the fast heat and finnished 2nd in the feature.Remember, its only cheating if you get caught!
