i have a wolf 3d, 4.0. electronic boost control, fuel and timing map control with rpm and load (map sensor, dump the amm). works great so far. others have gone the sds route. can also go haltec, autronic, motec, etc. you just need to shop around for what you want. the wolf dealer is close, and is best friends with the dyno shop owner, so that made the decision easy for me... but vince t went with sds because of proximity to his place. you just need to determine what you want and then find a company that can supply it.
my car has a balanced bottom end with 1 size overbore. the head is a 2.1 and had been ported and had valve work done. the cams are hot and provide enough lift for my redline of 7000 rpm now. the turbo is tec's stage 1 which is a t3-60. the rest is from timing and fueling. it's amazing what you can do with a little timing control here and there. all the flat spots that are present with the stock system are easily tuned out by going to the rpm and load at which they occur and varying timing and fueling to compensate. works out nicely. ever since i have gone this route, i have been a big proponent of the aftermarket ecu. you don't need to go this route, i am just trying to save you the money i spent on band aids trying to get more power. hope this helps.
