Just cranked over the car yesterday after finishing a front mount IC and 2.1 head conversion on my 99. It is up and running and will be on the dyno this weekend to see what it puts out. On the advice of Chris X, I domed out the compression chamber on my 2.1 head as well as opened up the exhaust and intake ports. Each compression chamber was cc'ed and matched (46.8 cc) using water and a plexiglas cover to measure volume. Last month it went into the shop for a complete valve job. I have lots of hours into this head over the winter. It will be interesting to see how it flows. With a copper gasket .070 thickness and minimal height on the head and the carved out compression chamber, I now have a compression ratio of 8.1:1. A bit lower than what I wanted but I needed to use a thicker gaskit than stock (.050) to keep the height within spec for timing. At the least, it should be able to handle boost as damian mentioned.
