I use REdline Water Wetter in both my 1991 Alfa Romeo and in my 1998 Saab 900SET.
Water Wetter is not a miracle cure for an over heating cooling system, but it can help a marginal cooling system. In both my vehicles the cooling systems are well maintained and have been completely flushed and re-filled with Dex-Cool coolant.
In the Saab I have seen no change in coolant temperature, but I didn't expect to. I have had the stock coolant temperature gauge reprogrammed to be more linear to the actual coolant temperature (Saab programmed the gauge to read at 'center' over almost a 20C temperature degree range).
The Alfa Spider has a marginal cooling system to start, a small radiator with poor airflow. Redline Water Wetter works to keep the coolant temperature in check when stuck in traffic in the hot summer months . According to the Alfa temperature gauge, Redline Water Wetter has dropped the peak coolant temperature from about 210F to 195F. The thermostat opens at 180F.
