The correct amount of water for a gasoline engine is betweein 10% and 25% of fuel flow. As a note if it were a diesel you can inject 125% of the fuel amount. You could have the injector come on at 75% of max Boost and raise the water pressure until you have a good balance. Using this method you should not flood the engine. You should inject before the throttle plate so that all cylinder get proper distribution.
You have to be way out of the ball park when injecting water to do any damage. Most damage occurs when the system is not correctly designed and water flows in when the engine is not running, a cyclinder can get hydo locked.
