Howdy all!

Ok, so the housing on my 1990spg's mitsu TE05 has cracked, and the noise is just getting to be too much. It's time for it to go.

I'm not too up on my turbo knowledge, and have been looking at the different options with the "deer in headlights" look for a while.

I like the fact that the mitsu spools up so quick, but I know it's pretty limited in the top end. Garret T3 is an option, as is a -16G compressor wheel on a Mitsu TE05. Both SPG9 and Swedish dynamics sell upgraded turbos, and there are a bunch of companies out there that do custom turbo work (Turbo Engineering, turbochargers.com, turbonetics, etc.).

Ok, to the questions: What experiences have people had with these different setups (TE05-16G, T3-60, T3/T4 hybrid, different companies to deal with, etc.) and what were the upsides and downfalls of each? What have folks done about the exhaust systems to match these turbos w/ different WG designs? How big a hassle is it to rearrange things for a different turbo? Also, anyone using a different exhaust header (9k or custom?)

My goal is under 300HP, and I'm not looking to put it on the track, just nice Virginia back roads.

My setup: 1990 spg, 30# injectors, AMM resistor, Trent RRFPR, SPG9 Stage II APC, 2.3l head w/ crower cams, PP, and dual valve springs from Lesco, intercooler fan on stock IC, ~18 lbs of boost. Water injection and 3" exhaust on the list for later this year (exhaust depends on which turbo I get) (maybe SDS too, if I start making more $).

Thanks, -Dan
