too much fuel will hamper performance and id say the suggestion of 0.9V-0.95V is a little too rich at full boost and 1.0V is far too much fuel... you really need a wide band a/f ratio meter to determine how rich a car runs... the gauges like the dawes and autometer are not accurate when in rich level.
Most dyno operators use a wide band gauge to scope a/f readings - wether at tail pipe or ooked into downpipe somewhere...
use the dawes gauge as a basic guide only. Use the multi meter to determine FP settings etc... make sure you are not getting too much retard also... this also hampers performance.
I have an autometer a/f gauge and under boost it shows 2nd LED in rich lite up - corresponds to 0.8-0.85V.... any more rich and it bogs severely.
If you are getting ping/pre-det even with extra fuelling id look at water injection to lower intake temps and double check timing.
hope that helps
