I have a 1986 900SPG but it has all 1988+ suspension/brakes & Intrax springs,
normal "skinny" wheel arch trim. Many wheels fit on it so far:
15 x 5.5 "saab teardrop" w/ 195/65-15 snow tires - some rubbing all 4 wheel arches when loaded
16 x 6.5 "saab aero" w/ 205/50-16 had a little rub in fronts when loaded in a ard corner + bump
16 x 6.5 "saab aero" w/ 205/45-16 never touched anything
16 x 7.0 "DP 5-spoke" w/ 205/45-16 no rubbing here either
Rubbing in all cases meant that the top outer edge of the tire would contact the inner top of the wheel well (i.e. the arch). Net effect = very highly polished inner wheel arches!
