I think amm output is always used initially in open loop mode.

afaik, 3 modes:

a) closed loop: uses amm output and rpm to get duty cycle from maps, and trim with 02 sensor

b) open loop1: uses amm output and duty cycle from maps. can be triggered by load (amm out vs rpm) and well as rpm as per Pavlo's LH2.4 . can also just be triggered by wot, per aaron's LH2.2 . mabe all 3 in some cases.

c) open loop2: doesn't use amm output, and triggered by high amm volts. this 1-D map, rpm vs duty cycle (or millisecs), is alleged by radnar and a book I read, not verified.

open loop2 could just be a matter of hitting max allowed amm volts, dialed in to a very duty cycle that is essentially wide open. if it occures at about 4K on boosted turbos as Brad said, then wide band would show less richness as rpms increased .... this I've seen.

monitor amm output (0-5 VDC) to find out what's up.

Brad can check amm and inj d-cycle, to really see what's up.

1.7x RRFPR's will usually guarantee overrich at max torque zone, esp with large inj's. should use brad's tag on resistor approach as much as possible, 2.4 and 2.2.
