Does that Bentley cover the 16V models too? If so, they've got some pretty serious disinformation going there. Something I'd expect from Chilton, but not Bentley!
AFAIK, no 16-valve Saabs have centrifugal advance. The turbos have vacuum advance/boost retard, the non-turbo's don't. The distributor on a later non-turbo doesn't even have the hall sensor in it - it's only function is to direct the spark to the correct cylinder.
I think saying there are only two systems is stretching things a bit. The way I see it, there are 3 (I'm talking USA C900's here): the "inductive impulse" system used up to 1980, the basic "hall-effect" system used on 8-valve engines and all turbos from 1981 on, and the "EZK" system used on 16-valve naturally-aspirated engines. While EZK uses a hall sensor, it's much more sophisticated than the other system. The EZK actually uses a computer that can provide the equivalent of centrifugal and vacuum advance in software. It also uses knock sensing to retard the spark on a per-cylinder basis, something the other systems cannot do.
