Hey everyone. I have a question pertaining to the fuel injection mapping characteristics of the LH 2.4. Before I pose this question, let me fill you in on my little project.

I am swapping a 2.3L engine into a 1990 Saab 9000 Turbo 2.0L car. This model is equipped with LH 2.4 and DI/APC. I have decided to use the existing engine management, along with AMM, TB/Intake Manifold, etc., to run this engine (instead of the 2.4.2), as it simplifies the swap. I am limited due to the fact that I am currently involved with a project that places me in a location far from my car, and when I return I have approximately 1 week to get this thing rolling. Thus, I am collecting parts and doing research in the hope that everything will work well together.

Ok, so now the question. If I use the LH 2.4 system that is mapped for a 2.0L, what are your opinions on the fuel system? Specifically, fuel injector sizes, pressure regulator, etc.? I am fairly sure that this car will run without changing anything, but I would like it to run WELL!!

The 2.3 is 15% larger in displacement than the 2.0, but has injectors that are approximately 50% larger (assuming the 1990 2.0 had the 150 712 injectors--I have a friend that is supposed to be checking on that now). I am wondering if the 2.4 system will be able to adjust to this on its own. Additionally, this engine will recieve an upgraded APC and larger turbo, so bigger injectors are desired. The question is, how far can I go given the minimum pulsewidth of the LH? The only experience I have with fuel injection tuning is with sport motorcycles, which use open-loop feedback, so they are pretty easy to tune with a piggy-back module. Unfortunately this does not help me here, as I am not familiar with the range of adjustment/adapability of the closed-loop LH 2.4.

Of course, my preferred option would be to find an LH 2.4 chip that is programmed for a 2.3L engine. However, I have contacted several chip tuners and those who have answered seem to all say, "I'll have to think about that one...". So, I am not counting on this as an option.

Ok, let me know your opinions. I know enough about cars, engines, etc. that I should be able to make this work, but I am unfortunately not an expert so I might need some help and advice! Thanks.
