How can this guy make you a COMPLETE exhaust system out of better components that what's used in the JT exhaust system for nearly the same cost?

"He's using Flowmaster stainless mufflers and suggested a 3" muffler with a resonator"

Alright fine, but I don't see any custom made downpipe on that list. Where's it? I was quoted a starting price of $350 and up just to have that part custom made, just before I bought the JT. This is one of the critical parts of the JT exhaust system and one of the the biggest reason why most of us have them. Do they look/fit/sound the best? I don't know but they WORK, and they aren't expensive for what you do get. Besides who can see the exhaust except the tip anyways right?

Also If I were you I'd let him keep the resonator, you won't be needing the extra 20-25 lbs it weighs anyhow?

Sounds to me like he's gonna just make you a cat-back system by the looks of it, and if that's what he wants $500-600 for then I'd pass and get the whole JT 3" COMPLETE exhaust system from the Turbo to the Tailpipe, have it cermanic coated for another $150-200(if your concerned with looks)and be done with it. The most crucial part of the system, is the downpipe!

You also could just buy the JT downpipe, then have him make the rest as you stated. That's still gonna cost you up near $700 easily, then you'll also need a highflow cat for another $100-150. So total would be around $850 at this point. That's expensive I'd say. Easily $300 more than the COMPLETE 3" JT Exhaust System would be. Na I doubt it'l make anymore power either.

I have the whole JT system, without a cat converter(straight pipe)and I fitted it myself in less than 2 hrs. Cost me about $500 or less.

See Ya,
Phil
