Your comments sound reasonable, Dean. No, I had the work done, don't have the time nor the hydraulic press to do it myself. The bushings were done at once. The spherical bushing is a cylinder with a central tube for a bolt with rubber seals each end. I estimate inside the ball is 1 1/4" diameter, and the circlip suggests it's captured between two hemispherical sections. There's no play at all, of course, and the bolt-hole can be moved around by hand, although it's stiff. This replaces the original, which is broken apart by the pressing-out, which is rubber around a central bolt-cylinder inside an outer metal shell.
The other, larger, bushing is a metal shell enclosing a complex rubber network within which is a metal bolt cylinder. It is filled with damping oil within the rubber relief areas. It is replaced by two urethane cylinders that mount together with an included inner metal bolt cylinder.
I won't estimate improvement until I get toe-in checked and the stiffening bar bolted on.
