Before any modifications my 2001 Viggen's best 1/4 mile was 14.86 @ 100.4, but most runs between 15.0 and 15.5 because it was so difficult to launch.
My Saab dealer installed the VRK except for the subframe brace which would not clear the 3" down tube. The toe in was left stock for now although the Abbott instructions say 2-3mm.
Unfortunately for testing each change, part of the BSR stage 3 kit was installed at the same time (3" down tube, race cat, and 2.5" cat back exhaust system.
Best 1/4 dropped to 14.65 @ 97.8 but more important are now almost always under 15.0. I think the car actually has lost a little midrange (I am patiently waiting for the rest of the kit) but the newly found control on launch results in lower and more consistent ETs. There is definitely more road feedback in the steering wheel but the car is still comfortable to drive.
I am holding off on the rest of the suspension work (including the 9-3 Koni adjustables that Koni says won't fit but I had checked in a Viggen hub assembly) until I find the right springs. The B&Gs I bought measured out considerably weaker for the rear than the Viggen springs. Eibach and Intrax show the same part number for the Viggen as the 9-3 so I assume they'll be like the B&Gs. I ordered some H&Rs from Sweden through Engstrom to check them out since H&R "officially" does not sell springs for US spec Saabs. Any suggestions?
