Well
As crazy as it might sound, you can try the 3" straight pipe back from the JT 3" DP.
Any good exhaust guy will tell you that the turbo acts as a muffler itself. Gary Moore uses straight pipes on at least one of his SPGs (or is it both now?), and he loves it. he swears they're not too loud, even though it seems hard to believe, he's 100% right. I agree with him. I've heard a 1989 900T with 3" back straight pipe, and it sounds real good. A 3" headers back on a V6 is a totally different story though! ( :
When you do the 3" turbo back with no cat/resonator/muffler, it will sound louder than your stock, but you're already expecting that.
Three options from that point....
1) you like it, not too loud, everything is cool, etc -- keep it the way it is
2) too loud, go find a 3" inlet/outlet cat, and install it inline with your 3" turbo back system
3) too loud, instead of doing the cat, some rallyist in Europe recommended adding an "expasnsion chamber" where the cat would normally be. Add a 3.5" (WOW) pipe, if they even exist(?). Supposivly it quiets it down. I've heard of this being done with a 2.5" exhaust, and adding a 3" chamber, so the 3.5" might not be workable.
Either way, personally I'd go with option #1 or #2. Definatly 3" turbo back though. No substitues ( :
Let me know what you think
