There are several variations of this process. I will discribe the one and produts I have used, there are other products but from trail and error this is what I like.
Injectors: You can use one or two injectors mounted about 4-6" before the throttle plate. This placement works well because air speed will be fairly high when injection begins. The other method is to place an adtional injector in each intake runner. One or two injectors are cheaper than four.
Injector driver: The two that I have used that I lake the best are the MF2 from Aquamist and an AIC from Excess. The MF2 is about $300.00 and would work best with a MAP sensor at additional cost, it can be used in 2D with out it if you like. This unit can drive 4 high impedence injectors. The MF2 is adjusted with potensiometers, it has an adjustment every 1000rpm.
The Excess unit can be adjusted more precisely. This unit can drive 4 high impedence injector. It has a built in MAP sensor. It has a complete digital display, rpm, boost and ms of injection. It is menu driven, no lap top. There is adjustment every 0.1 of a bar starting at -0.5bar and every 500rpm staring at 1000rpm and going to 13000. For each adjsutment there are 250 point in both boost and rpm. This unit runs $650.00.
Both of thes units can be adjusted on the fly. The fact that no lap top is needed is a plus for me as I can adjust at any time and any place.
There are other units on the market SDS, Apex, Splitsecond and a lot of others. These are just the units that have proven correct for my needs.
As for your project we have a simular car in our shop at this time with the MF2. It a 924 Porsche with a turbo added running CIS injection. We have a couple of SAAB's with the Excess.
I hope this novel is not too long.
