9005 to 9006 Conversion

Rich,
Here's a link to help you step-by-step to convert the 9005 high beam bulb to fit into the 9006 low beam socket. There is truly a difference in light output with this conversion. Stock low beam 9006 bulbs are 1000 lumens, optimized are 1150 lumens and the modified stock high beam 9005 bulbs are 1700 lumens. Using an optimized 9005 bulb like the Silverstar or Xtravision by Sylvania will boost light output past 1850 lumens. Instead of using an X-acto knife as they suggest, I used a soldering iron to melt the tab off. I happen to be using Silverstars in my low and high beams for my 9000CS. With both the low and high beams on, I definitely light up my neighborhood. If you try the conversion, I think you will be quite pleased with the results like I am. I just wish my 99 9-3SE was able to do the same thing.
