Hello tomw, I would say that it's probably just the waste gate setting on your new turbo. All the new lines and turbo will create more boost but not that drastic of change from the old setup. If you went by the book you would go back to the base boost setting but I only do that if there's a bunch of things out of adjustment to start over from the beginning. You can lengthen your waste gate rod a turn or two and go for a test drive or if you like see where the preload is on the waste gate first. I usually start out by shortening the rod 2 turns after the waste gate is just seated and end up at more like 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 turns to get just into the red on the OEM boost gauge which is right where I like to see these cars run. If yours is preloaded more than 3 turns that's your problem for sure. In my own early Saab's I've found that more than 18 psi only heats the air up more with their small intercooles and with no water injection and therefore doesn't produce very much more power anyway. Your noise could be knock before the APC kicks the boost back which is "flirting w/ fate". Dave at Lesco
