I experienced this exact same problem. When I would apply the brakes, my gauge would drop at least 1 bar. By the time I turned the lights/fan/wipers/radio/etc on, the gauge was 3-4 bars low.
I did two things to get accurate a/f readings.
1. I grounded the gauge where the ECU is grounded to the chassis.
2. I had to run another ground cable from the turbo to the front frame member. For some reason, the O2 sensor was not getting a great ground and it was fluctuating with the voltage in the car.
After doing these two things, my a/f gauge doesn't move at all when turning on other stuff.
I've also come to realize that with the battery in the trunk, it's almost a requirement that the alternator should be replaced with a 115 Amp 9000 version. It takes more amps than my 80 Amp can provide to move the current through all of the power cable.
