Hi there!
Want more evidence that you shouldn't modify your Saab? Here's a picture taken this afternoon of my '88 9kt. Look closely at the point where the rearward torque arm mounts to the body. The picture is kinda fuzzy, but you can see where the bolts mounting the torque arm bracket to the body have clean ripped out of the body work. Sweet.
The car is an '88 9kt, 265k. It's been running 16psi for the last 65k or so. I've never seen anything like this - I guess over time the metal just fatigued and gave up. There is not a spec of rust on this car ANYWHERE, so that's not a possibility - it's spent its whole life in California, and most of it in the SoCal San Fernando Valley.
Now, how to fix this issue....
