I know VinceT's engine builder doesn't like Ross pistons, something to do with a skirt issue I think. I had a set of 2mm oversize in an engine and had no complaints and I honestly never noticed any piston slap when cold. That engine had 25K on it when I lost a rod, the three pistons that didn't beat themselves against the head looked brand new.
The machine shop I use specializes in racing engines for the local strip and track guys use JE, Ross or Wiseco forged pistons and like KB if using cast.
Whatever piston you choose, I'd reccommend 2mm oversize, this increase in dysplacement is significant enough to make a real difference.
