I once wrote a speach on this subject.
I don't know the specifics about your car but I can tell you what I believe and what I'd do. I personally consider octane ratings to be off(minus)by at least ONE point no matter where you buy your gas. Example, if your buying 93 octane gas, you're probably only getting 92 at best. While purchasing 89 octane gets you 88, and so forth. I think your owners manual is suggesting one octane rating while cautioning you to at least use above another. So for your car I'd say it's use 90 octane, but never us anything less than 87 octane(to me it's really 86 in the pumps though)as do most other manuals will say(I thnk they all do regardles of automaker). Now I know what you pay for isn't always what you get(minus one remember), so if you really want to run 90 octane, you'd have to at least buy the 91 stuff. That's my thoughts...
