well. gary...you drive a saab...that much we know....;

here is how i will do it. first i will get titaniun exhaust to contain the high temp from my lh2.2 powered 400 hp motor...it's prolly going to run a little lean...:)

ok seriously this time. what you need to do is find out what kind of signals you ahve to generate first based on the unit chosen. this depends on your coice of sequential or bank fire injection as well. you can get a signal from the dist sensor or a crank wheel but then you need a #1 tdc signal also for sequential. generally you will have to use both unless the cogged wheel on the dist can be modified. you can prolly find a proper aftermarket tooth wheel for the dist but you will have to run the sensor out some how because it won't use the stock one. i think you can use a magnet with a prox sensor through th cap if you have to. then use the 9k di cassette or two wasted spark msd blaster coils and use dist just for cam position. you have an external igniter ( ign module ). it sounds to me like you need to take it the other direction since you have the c900 .vs. ezk cranck wheel. i.e. figure out what you want to do and then fab up accordingly. most units can take a variety of inputs and can be switched from falling edge to leading edge for t#1 trigger and plain ol' tdc. a flywheel prox sensor is nice for tdc...if you can find one that will work. ususally an embedded magnet that rotates past the sensor.

I too like the autronic feature set but the add'ons will get you. hand set for instance is optional as is autotune. smc is a little light in features and sm2 is prolly more than you need. autronic has a good rep for reliability. the perfect power prs8 is actually nice and has switch selectable maps but little is known about them as they are a south african company. you probably should budget close to 1000$ over list price to get it installed with new sensors and dialed in. i would disagree with kooch's position in that i think the fun is in doing something others haven't, not tryng to out do the others..the fuel and timing maps are independent of the system itself and totally dependent upon the characteristics of the actual engine hardware. turbo, exhaust, headwork, injectors etc. the maps are not really shareable except for a rough guess at first startup. my goal is to put on on the dyno and tune for a constant torque level. one that will not shatter transmissions. with a proper head setup and an ecu i should be able to extend that to a much higher rpm.
