In the book "Maximum Boost" there are recomendations that address the issue. A plenum is required and short runners to reduce the inertial effects. The manifold in my 95SET had a large plenum cavity, but probably not large enough. The plenumn cavity is like a storage capacitor for the pressurized air. With air at 2 bars absolute, remember that the inertial terms of the flow will be almost doubling (ignoring temperature gain). The transistion from the plenum to the runners needs to be smooth a well to reduce 'entrance' losses... no surprise there.
