Well for the most part the standard way of PLUS sizing rims and tirs means lowing the ratio by 10 for every inch in rims diameter growth. So when going from a 16' rims with 55 series, you move up to 17' rims with 45 series. Again, decreasing by 10 for each inch you go up in rim size. The differnce in height your concerned with will be minimal, a few mm at best so the speedos error should stay about same. I'm always concerned with anyone trying to stuff tires wider than 215mm width under their Saabs, and that's why I mentioned the 215's over the 225's. Of course the width of the tires you choose will have ALOT to do with the offset of the rims you'd be using with them. EXAMPLE: My brother uses 215/45-17's on 17x7.5 rims on his 93' Aero. He could not use wider tires because the rims he has have an offset of 40mm. That 40mm brought the rims closer to the INSIDE where rubbing would occur against the rear trailing arm. 'IF' the offset were 30mm or less he could have then transfered that 10mm saving towards tires that were 10mm wider, so the 225's you mentioned. Got it?
If someone here knows better, please speak up...
See Ya,
Phil
