I've never seen bleed-off valves on a solo car, and I've been going to Divisionals and National tours for about five years. Get a good Longacre gauge and a big air tank (9 gal.) On almost any car you'll need different front and rear pressures. As you increase tire pressure you're effectively increasing the spring rate at that end of the car; I'd go by 2psi increments at each end to balance it. What you want to do once you find the best pressure is recheck just after your run and make your adjustments then. I'm just guessing not knowing what kind of tires, but when I used to auto-x my 9000 I ended up with 38-40psi front to keep them from rolling (using the original BFG R1's) and about the same or a bit more rear to get it to turn. I'm surprised you're getting oversteer with a Saab though- is it stock or do you have a bigger rear anti-roll bar?
I wouldn't worry too much about tire pressures initially- just go out and get seat time, get someone to co-drive your car with you and ride with them if you're allowed at your site, and ride with really fast front-drivers to see how they drive.
