Most 900T owners start with a boost enhancement (APC), fuel update, exhaust, and intake to about 220 horsepower which your 1990 with the Mistubishi TE05 turbocharger should easily handle. Torque should be the only factor with the automatic transmissions and you might want to limit this to 230-240 foot pounds or under.
Since our APC may bring you over the 240 ft/lb range, you could easily add a few horsepower by tailoring your own APC by following the instructions posted at this BB but make certain that you provide additional fuel delivery to match any increased boost pressures.
