You wrote this to me a while back...
Been curious as to wheels as I am definitely getting big brake envy (especially lately when I saw the Cayenne's monsters).
Seems a lot of the 4x108s are only available in 42mm. The OZ Crono Evolution in 17x7 is with 42mm offset. I think I found on one of the online tire merchants (Discount Tire IIRC) the Fondmetal Type 9A with a 38mm offset. Also I punched in "Ford Focus" on Tirerack.com and they came up with the Kosei K1 Racing. 17x7.5 though, with a 40mm or 42mm offset.
So, what to do? Is 7.5 too wide? Can the larger offset of these wheels be countered with spacers (custom made or otherwise) and longer studs? This of course on c900/SPG, lowered, rear axle relocated, trick alignment.
Meantime, I'll soon be getting a set of Wilwood Superlite IIa calipers to try out...
