Fitting 7.5" wide rims is possible. I'm not definitely sure of the required offset w/ the 17" diameter rim. The c900 gets less and less room to fit a wider tire as the diameter gets smaller. The trick is fitting it perfectly centered in the well so no inner or outer rub occurs. The rear is even harder b/c the axle can sway to the left or right on extreme cornering, so you have to give room for that.
With 18" rims the offset comb was 40mm in front and 33 in rear. You shouldn't go w/ 225's though b/c they will end up being more like 230's. Also, not only have I noticed that the wider tires w/ saab's smaller track causes issues. If attempting to put on 7.5" wide rims, I'd go w/ a 205 (which would be more like a 210 w/ the 7.5 rim). You can precisely offset them w/ spacers and longer lug bolts but its a hassle, might want to try to get some H&R studs. I just ordered a set of 17x7's w/ a 40mm offset and 205/45/17's, so when I get them I can give you more word on how much room there is and what offset would be good:)
At this point, I'd still suggest 17x7 and smaller rims w/ tires no greater than 205's for street and 215's for track and a offset from 40-33mm ( from experience and feedback from others). Plus ofcourse the rear axle relocation and a front alignment w/ 0 to - camber :) The 17x7.5 might be possible w/ a hybrid offset, I'll find out for sure in a month or so. I know some one else here runs 17x7.5 rims but their car is far from lowered which doesn't confirm the tires will even enter the well..
