Brad is an expert at this stuff. He imports and installs this gear and has decades of Saab tuning and racing experiece.
The water need to be misted upstream of the air temperature sensor so the ECU can map fuel for accommodate the lowered intake temperatures.
Water and alcohol are often used together. An absolute must in winter conditions. Water also is an excellent anti detonant. So is the alcohol. The alcohol also is a fuel, and this increases richness beyond the open loop fuel mapping. This also lowers temeratures, reduces flame front speeds and again reduces knocking.
Water injection would not a good mod o a stock system. But for a boost enhanced vehicle, it can help push the envelope. One would want to install a better intercooler if one was availble, prior to going with water injection. The water injection would always help, but should not be used to compenate for an IC that is no longer adequate for the increased CFM's. But when you have done all that is practical with the IC, water injection will definately help.
While on the subject of reducing charge air tempertures etc, remember that cold air induction at the air filter is vital. Insulation of the air pipes can help, especially in very hot summer conditions.
