pistons and compression ratio questions

I'm in the middle of rebuilding (my first rebuild) a '86 16 valve turbo motor for my '83 900. I will use a front mounted 9000 intercooler, and a 3" exhaust system. Normally the next step would be to increase the boost pressure via APC modification, but I started thinking (I do that occasionally you know;) : How about increasing the compression ratio instead, and leaving the APC untouched? I have pistons from a 8 valve n/a engine, but I don't know what compression ratio these would give me with the 16 valve turbo head.
What would the compression ratio be with the n/a pistons? (my guess is either 9,5:1 or 10,1:1)
If this is doable, would I need to do any more modifications, other than the 9k intercooler and larger exhaust?
The piston on the left is form the '86 16 valve turbo engine, and the other one from the '89 8 valve n/a engine (I always thought '88 was the last year for the 8 valve engine until I found this one).
