But with a hydralic lifter, the oil pressure and the preload (although in a bucket like follower system I am not sure), can make it work. There has been some discusion on this BB about using lash caps of a certain dimension to make up the diff. What a reginder is doing is, moving the centerline of the cam action in towards the center of the circle, while making the ramps steeper and higher. Lash caps may work, but so far, I am not convinced. But, what most of these regrinders are trying to do is leave the intake open later, and the exhaust close sooner(turbos only), to increase the charge. But I really love the way a car with a wild cam sounds, and the "drop in" cam will prolly give you 10-15hp, its hard to imagine more. I always would like to check valve/piston clearance first.
