Ok, I've had my Dawes MBC for a while without installing it yet. For a couple of reasons, one being I wanted to wait until I got my boost gauge installed first. Anyway, I got impatient and did it tonight. Here's what I did...

1. Removed the line from the BPC to the Wastegate at the wastegate and connected my own line from the wastegate to the MBC elbow.
** i noticed that the tubing large enough to fit the wastegate barb was too large to fit the MBC elbow properly. so, i used 2 different sizes to connect to the elbow and wastegate barb and connected the 2 hoses in the middle. the smaller fit very tightly into the larger **

2. removed outer-most hose from the BPC and plugged it into the open barb on the MBC.

3. took the hose from the BPC that I unplugged from the wastegate and plugged it into the barb on the BPC that I left open in step 2.

So, after I did this and zip-tied the hoses to the MBC, I started my mission to tune it to correct PSI's. Right away, I was getting fuel cut-off, which I thought was odd since i remember in the instructions how it's supposed to be set BELOW max PSI. so, i pulled over, loosened the nut, turned the elbow end of the MBC counter-clockwise, making it longer, tightened the nut, and tried again. I did this a few times and kept getting fuel cutoff. the last time i loosened it, i did it too much and it came completely apart. so, i figured i must have it backwards and tightened it all the way to the bottom, so it's as short as it can be (well, not completely tight, but pretty close). i was just trying to see if i could get the boost to stop in the yellow AT ALL instead of cutting off half way into the red. SAME THING. more fuel cut-off.

then, the last time i tried, i shut off my car, did my adjustment, got in, started it, and got a nice friendly "CHECK ENGINE" light. so i immediately pulled over, disconnected the MBC, put all hoses back to their original position, started my car back up, and still saw the "CHECK ENGINE" light. i drove my car gently home, and now, i'm here asking for help.

can someone please advise me on what the heck happened? i know there are different ways to install the MBC, and these were directions i saw from someone on the BB who seemed to have success with it. did i get a bad MBC? did i do something wrong? is the computer screwed up?
