Do you have a newer DI cassette? Plugs gapped 1mm? Lower temp thermostat? Obviously if it boosts right up with the APC disconected its not the turbo. My 91 runs fine with the 40# units, a new O2 sensor and a clean AMM helped with idle. It sure sounds to me like you are detonating. I am totally ignorant of TCS, is it drive by wire? Have you driven the car with a Tech II hooked up? It is an amazing device, and will tell you what is going on, esp if the boost is being cut back due to detonation.

Tell me more about your turbo, 28 on the compressor side and a clipped 25 on the turbine? Happy with Turbonetics?
