Smooth drivers are the fastest through the course. Commit the course to memory... walk it more than once if you have time. Get there early and talk to the other drivers to see if there is anything about the conditions that are affecting their set up. Check your tire pressures (won't make a huge difference on a C900, but do it anyway!).
Unless it is a huge course, do NOT try to get into 3rd gear!
Offer to work the event (help set cones, etc). The people there will really appreciate it and you will be invited back!
For the C900: lighten it up as much as you can, stay out of 3rd gear, watch the plowing with the understeer as it will eat your tires, & your last run should be your best!
Good luck and please let us know how it goes!
