Disagree that c900 is not competitive. Maybe not at Nationals, but I'm sure all the people I've been beating this season would vouch for the lowly Saab. In regional street tire stock class (all cars PAX'ed) I've finished ahead of Mustangs, Miatas, MR2s, Subie RS & WRX, Civic & S2000, Integra, Focus SVT, etc. Yesterday, at a practice event, a local hotshoe co-driving a street-tired 2003 Cooper S with 225 Falken Azenis (I'm on 205s) couldn't catch my fastest times. My biggest competition comes from a Sentra Spec V R (Limited slip, more tires, approx. same torque), a *90* hp 1st gen MR2, and late 80s Renault 405 sedan.
As for gearboxes, I seem to be moving to a 6k mile gear oil change interval; I change it as soon as shift quality begins to go downhill. At mileage approaching 150k, the 'box shows no signs of impending death.
If a torsen was available for c900, I think they could be *very* competitive Street Prepared cars (not willing to bet a gearbox with the Phantom Grip).
