You might be interested in a modified ECU from genuinesaab.com someday.
You could get a low restriction SS exhaust and a low restriction cleanable air filter. Then later get a stage I ECU with some cost knocked off for the existing filter and have a stage II result.
And you can improve the turbo spoolup with a SMBC, a MBC installed in series with the BPC valve. With a mild adjustment, the ECU is still in control of boost, but much of the turbo lag is gone. So that definately makes for a faster vehicle. "power delayed is power denied" The SMBC will also have value after the modified ECU brings on the boost and HP. MBCs cost $15 to $42 but you can spend more!
So for now, SMBC, then the filter as the OEM unit does its lifecycle, then the SS exhaust after the OEM unit does its thing and the budget for modifcations gets ready for the SS exhaust system.
And about the stainless steel exhaust systems. The OEM unit will rot out someday. So if the budget allows, get the Sports exhaust sooner and enjoy it longer.
Everthing above is a DIY install if you like that.
And if you get the power, get religi+on about oil, plugs and filters.
