The parts dealer is not always the one you want working on your car. When I had problems with Abbott software I bought it from Abbott America and assumed that I could get my money back and go my seperate ways. Abbott America(AA) did not want to return my money but instead wanted to fix the car. I didn't want AA to work on my car due to him not being a Saab mechanic and being a musican. I called Abbott Racing and they said for me to get my money back that I had to let AA work on my car and if he could not find the problem then I could get my money back. Abbott Racing really did not support me but moreso the dealer. In this case I would bet the dealer would not warranty anything since they did not sell the part directly to Saabone and Abbott might support this as well.

I as well took my car to the dealer who said the problem was a software issue. The dealer could not understand why the engine temp was so high except to say that the temp sensors needed to be replaced. In the end there was nothing wrong with the temp sensors but the problem was in the ecu harness with a bad ground to the temp sensors wire. The wire was sodered and the problem was fixed. The car was also hard to start but did so if I tried over a period of time or got a jump start.

Switch out the ecu's and this should allow you to see if this is the problem or not. If the problem still exist try looking at the ecu harness. If the car wont start try jump starting it off another car. Once you have the car started scan the engine with a tech2. If you find any values outside there normal values look at the ecu harness for a bad ground. This is the easiest way to solve this problem. AA and the Saab dealer had me change my DIC($300) saying it was not strong enough for the car, oxygen sensors($200+) stating that they reacted to slowly, all the temp sensors($200+) since they were off they must of been the problem and finally it might be the wire harness ($1).
