Heya Cpaden, You seem to be quite an enthusiastic fan. I contacted their rep in NY state (there doesn't seem to be anyone in Toronto) with questions about what gains I might expect in torque, powerband, etc and if the auto transmission could handle it, if all it did was increas boost presure, etc and I received a price and information on how quickly he could install it (he didn't seem to speak much english).
Their website is completely vague about what the chip does... so enlighten me.. what makes you so pro-superchip?
I tend to have a good impression of Abbott - although I installed the viggen rescue kit on my viggen at great expense, and it didnt really have the level of improvement they suggested it would... Also they expect you to remove and send the ECU to the UK I believe, leaving you with no wheels for a weeks or so.
I don't know who the reputable sweedish tuners are, but the ones I found on the web don't mention being in development of 9-3SS ECU upgrades.. again, I love the Saab board here becuase people often have information that isn't easy to obtain.
And finally, I think the only part of the engine that is GM (at least substancially) is the aluminum block its self. Is IT fragile? I'd just love to accidentally crack the block and find out its not under warrentee because my aftermarket ECU upped the boost pressure too high :)
Thanks for all the info guys!!!
Earl
