well it should really be called a v6 GM engine, although all saab engines are now technically GM engines the turbo four is a saab design where the v6 found in NG900's is almost all GM. That being said the V6 really sucks, its a bitch to work on, you have to remove the intake manifold to do almost anything to it, it does not make much power and you would never get it to fit in yout OG 900.
Find a 16valve turbo pull out your old engine and drop it in. Everything will fit without metal modification plus its a great engine and very available. you would however have to install all the electronics that go with the turbo such as the ECU and APC along with intercoolers etc...
So no dice on the V6. NG(93+) 900's are a totally different design with a transverse engine layout that would not fit in a OG900 without SERIOUS fabrication.
Find a 900 Turbo with a rotted body which should not be that hard and swap everything.
