I was thinking about the same IC so I wanted to check the space on my 2001 Aero. I also looked throught the WIS but knew it could drop out the bottom without draining the radiator, etc. Here's what I did:

- Drive car up on ramps
- Remove grill, horns, and headlamps
- Remove both bolts that secure condensor to the IC
- From below, remove plastic shield so you have access to bottom of radiator, IC, a/c condensor, oil cooler, and power steering fluid cooler.
- Loosen both hose clamps on each side of the IC, push hoses off IC
- Remove both bolts that hold oil cooler to the bottom of the IC and let oil cooler drop and rest on the floor.
- Remove both support brackets that hold the radiator and IC.
- The radiator will still be supported by one of the cross beams so let the IC drop straight down and remove. After inspecting the stock IC you'll see how inadequate it is and probably made by the lowest bidder.
- Based on the given measurements of the Speedparts IC it will fit no problem in the stock location. Both Speedparts and Maptun source their IC upgrade from the same manufacturer, Kylarjonson. See attached links.
- The condensor can be pushed back and mounted on fabricated brackets which is what I plan to do so I can accomodate a different IC. Probably bar&plate type FMIC because the Speedparts IC still doesn't flow enough for my upgrade path from what I'm discovering.

Hope that helped.
