On the rubbing, the rim diameter doesn't affect rubbing but the rim width does. On a 17" rim you will have a lower profile tire so your total rim/tire diameter will not be any more than a 15" rims. I use 17x7.5 Ronal RTs on my C900 and had rubbing in rear. This was handled by heavy load springs and 1' spring spacers in rear because I like to go camping and haul stuff.
Best, KB.
