Just imagine if my viggen maintained the stock 258ft-lb torque all the way up to 6k rpms.. It would have 294hp. If it maintained the 300ft-lb of the SQR software upgrade it would have 342hp at 6k rpms! Maybe that's why the mitsubishi evo uses a larger TD05 turbo. It has nothing below 3k rpm but flows very good exhaust-wise at higher rpms. Don't forget, higher hp means you have more torque at higher rpms. THat means you can stay in a lower gear longer before shifting, and take advantage of the gearing. I can feel my car losing steam after 5k rpms so I shift.
