definition & reason back cut & blending Posted by jak [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: My experiences, saabaru, Fri, 14 Nov 2003 14:28:55 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
below Ill post a link to a pic of the valves used in my head
if you place a valve on the table stem up & look at the seat area just up from that you will notice a bump at the upper portion of the seat area back cutting remocves this bump which actualy creates more space between the valve & the seat when the valve is open backcutting alone would look lind of like a 3 angle seat but on the valve instead of the seat smoothing the transition of the horisontal surface of the valve to the seat area
backcutting the valve will not cause more oil to enter thru the guide I promise
it is a verry good mod & is known for giving noticable throttle response in my engine I got more of that NA throaty braap from the intake after the ported head & backcut valves
blending is after you back cut you carefuly take tha valve & hand smoothe the transition so they come out looking like the ones in the link
I just fealt like this should be understood because its a performance mod old as performance it self & should be understood
take care
JAK
