"modified turbo saab" refered to in the article is a 95 9000 Aero with the following mods. This car is street legal but runs in Prepared classes for SCCA events.
Extreme weight reduction, under 2500Lbs w/o driver
Abbott ECU
Greddy Profec B boost controller with hi/low switch mounted in shift lever
2.5" Abbott SS exaust including downpipe with cat bypass
Quaife LSD
K&N filter with mod air box
Abbott blow off valve
Koni adjustable's and Bilstein Sports, have both.
revised gear ratios with 4.05:1 final drive
custom springs
1" rear sway bar with custom mounts
front bar stock for autocross, 1" for road course
poly or stuffed bushings (every one in car)
3 sets of race tires and wheels
23x9x15 Goodyear road racing slicks 10.5" section width 23"diameter
225/45/15 hoosier rs303
215/45/16 falcon azenis
Lightweight GTI seats
5 point seat belts, harness
13 lb battery incl case
aluminum sunroof filler
slotted rotors
stainless brake lines
seperate pads for each type of event
Aluminum hood (11 lbs including mounts)
plus just about everything in this car has been replaced at least once.
This car has been a track monster since I bought it in 1996
